Here at Park Moving, we pride ourselves on specializing in long-distance and interstate moves. We have over fifty years of experience executing residential and commercial moves both to and from Central Alabama. Recently, we shared an article that discussed how to choose the best long-distance moving company for you. In today’s article, we’re talking about how soon to hire movers.
When Should You Hire Movers?
When should you start looking to hire movers? We like to recommend to our clients to begin gathering moving estimates from local companies as soon as possible (within reason). A few factors will determine the availability of moving companies. For one, summer is always the busiest moving time of the year. If you are planning a move between May and August, we recommend starting to contact movers as soon as possible.
Why Should You Hire Movers Early?
Another factor that affects the availability of moving companies is the individual capacity of each company. Currently, staffing is one of the biggest limiting factors with moving company capacity. The rise of the Delta variant of COVID-19 has made staffing difficult. We, as well as all moving companies, keep the health and safety of our employees and clients as our top concern. If an employee complains of illness or tests positive for COVID-19, they are not allowed to return to work until they are well. As a consequence, companies are often shorthanded.
Hiring a Moving Company
We always recommend that our clients get at least 2-3 estimates from local moving companies before choosing the right team. Moving is a big ordeal and it’s important that you have full confidence in the team that you have hired. Not only are they handling your valuable belongings, but they will also be your partners in executing the move. In order to make the move as stress-free as possible, be sure that the team that you hire is professional, licensed and insured, and experienced.
